December 12/05 meeting highlight:

SOAP member had a discussion and vote on Paragraph 5 of 

SOAP Membership website.

6 members voted to retain the wording as of Paragraph 5, 4 members voted for, every paid member be entitled to particpate

in the NFR software draw. 3 members abstained from voting. Outcome: No change to Paragraph 5 wording.

David Estabrooks demonstrated and explained position, representation, adaptation and constraining of parts. 

Keep in mind to document your changes and ideas for future use and for others who may have to continue with your unfinished work.

David also demonstrated the creation of a part, explaining the difference between Sheet metal and regular part, 

outlined the individual

preference to constraint the first sketch to the point of Origin. Further explanation was given between driven- and ordinary dimension.

November 14/05 meeting highlight:

Rose Francella and John Pearson of designfusion hosted the meeting with a demonstration of Solid Edge. 

John made the presentation outlining the capabilities to utilize AutoCAD data to create Solid Edge 2D and 3D components.

 Rose also distribute to all attendance: Pen, Mouse Pad, Solid Edge promotion literature

October 11/05 meeting highlight:

Paul Nuyens demonstrated and explained Inventor Vault and

 Productstream.

Even as a one person operation, you should use the Vault. 

Vault simplifies searching, organizing your parts/assembly and related document.

Paul also answered our question pertaining to the Inventor Vault. 

Paul also demonstrated Tips and Tricks of Inventor 10.

 David demonstrated and explained the function of ROMA StingerII which is a 3D Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

This session gave us a great opportunity to observe a reverse engineering method.

Paul Nuyens of Autodesk demonstrated Inventor 10 and Autodesk Vault.

He made an excellent presentation to learn about 3D modeling,

and any one who missed the meeting, it's your loss.

May 09/05 meeting highlight: 

Wolfe showed an example of Surface Modeling of a Car Body.

Original Design and Instruction by J. D. Mather of 

Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Wolfe tackled the May 05 Challenge from Peer Hoffmann.

David demonstrated about preparing to derive a part.

updating parts which were created from the derived part.

 Bring your Inventor challenge/question to the meeting.
