making an excellent presentation of Inventor 11.
Paul
spoke about Auodesk product release cycle and generally of the
CAD industries.
Paul
demonstrated function from Inventor 11; Spline, dimension
constraining of spline, thereafter creating surfaces and
thickness to the surfaces.
Smoothening
of Spline, Surface and Thickness creation between 3 Spline, 2
Spline were on a Work surface and 1 Spline was a 3D creation.
Creating
fillets between 2 joining parts and fillets to 2 non joined
parts.
Lofting
of 2 surfaces and Spline Rail, were as the Spline Rail was not
connected or touched the 2 surfaces.
Sweep
of several surfaces to create a Hair Dryer, Sculpting of
Surfaces.
Lofting
of Surfaces with spline as guide rail to create an electric
razor housing per defined sketches from marketing.
Paul
also talked about Inventor ACIS shape Manager.
Also
demonstrated a Frame Generator, utilizing Excel spread sheet.
Also demonstrated the importing of AutoCAD 2 D design
components from AutoCAD dwg.

Alex
Karan of IMAGINiT
demonstrated Vault and Productstream. Vault is not only
intended for Inventor but also will work alongside AutoCAD
Mechanical.

be installed. Alex made an excellent presentation how Vault
can be useful to anyone,
particular
where more then one CAD personal is involved. Alex also talked
about Productstream.

for this particularly product. Caution must be taken to ensure
that all the drawing files (IDW) and Library files are copied.
Skeletal
Modeling was discussed, it is of benefit if the design is used
repeatedly with only some dimension changes.
For
one time/unique requirement, Skeletal Modeling is not
recommended.
After
Break time, David demonstrated per request Design Assistance
which he used very frequently within his work scope.
